1. GET OUT AND INTO NATURE


Get out of the hustle and bustle of city life and make your way to the country -- Cheatham County country. The Harpeth River in Kingston Springs, TN near Nashville is canoe heaven. Choose your canoe or kayak from Canoe Music City or Foggy Bottom Canoe. Both companies offer scenic trips down the river through historical locations.

2. ATTEND A CAR SHOW


Pleasant View, TN is only 20 minutes northwest of Nashville, TN on I-24/exit 24. Every 3rd Saturday of each month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy viewing vintage and new vehicles at the Cruise'n and Groove'n Car Show in The Pleasant View Village, located on Hwy 41A. Make it a family night out with food and fun; great eateries and a brewery are located there.




3. VISIT A FARMERS MARKET


The great thing about farmers markets in Cheatham County is that you have your choice of visiting one in the morning and/or one in the evening!


Start in beautiful and historic downtown Kingston Springs west of Nashville near exit #188. Kingston Springs Farmers & Artisans Market is held at the corner of West Kingston Springs Road and North Main Street. Purchase fresh eggs, honey, canned and baked goods, wood products, produce, jewelry and even animal treats as you are surrounded by musicians, craftsmen and artists of all kinds.


Enjoy purchasing fresh fruits, vegetables and artisans’ wares as the sun goes down over the Cumberland River at Ashland City Farmers & Artisans Market. The market is held from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at Riverbluff Park (175 Old Cumberland Street) in Ashland City and runs from the end of May through August of each year. The Fall market is held Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. September 16th thru Oct. 28th.


Ashland City, TN is only 20 to 30 minutes from Nashville on Highway 12, and provides a quaint and peaceful setting for the Ashland City Farmers & Artisans Market.

4. EAT ICE CREAM


Cheatham County has some of THE BEST food to cool ya down!


Sweet T’s is located in Kingston Springs, TN at 385 N Main St. The specialty is gelato -- you know -- ice cream the way they make it in Italy. Sample the favorite flavors, such as Blood Orange, Salted Carmel and Maple Bourbon.


Golly G's is located in Pleasant View, TN at 6308 Highway 41A. Bet your mouth will be watering after you read this list: homemade ice cream, sticky buns, homemade cookies, double fudge brownies, maple rolls . . . GEEZ! Time to get in the car and get some cool stuff!



5. GOLF, ANYONE?


If you're going to eat gelato and ice cream, guarantee you're going to have to work it off. How about a round of golf in Cheatham County?


Nashville National Golf Links is located at 1725 Hew Hope Rd. in Joelton, TN, 21 miles northwest of Nashville, TN off I-24 and offers a gorgeous setting for 18 holes. And you'll never see a house! The course was built intentionally to allow visitors to truly enjoy nature.
